I had located the perfect car, even the color I wanted but the seller was asking top dollar.  It was a 6 hour drive, so I wanted to be sure before I drove that far.  When questioned, the seller got very abrupt, stating the market determined the price, not the standard car value guides.  But when I looked the vehicle up on CARFAX, I got the information I needed.  The seller had not mentioned some of the car’s history that reduced the value significantly.  CARFAX told me what I should be paying for that vehicle based on it’s history.  Needless to say, I passed on that car, thankfully, and found a great deal on a newer, better model.  Thanks CARFAX, I will never shop for a car without this service again!
