Safe. Comfortable. Incredible value.
"After 8 months of having our 2020 Telluride S, we still look forward to the next trip in it. We rolled the dice by purchasing prior to the release of safety ratings, but were very pleased with the results. Admittedly, the non-SX trims lack the best headlights available. We have no problems with nighttime driving, though, and can say that we have never been 'flashed' because someone thinks that we have high beams on. Presence of sensors that prevent merging or backing into something accidentally are always great. The lane keep assist and smart cruise features, coupled with the spacious interior and smooth ride, make highway driving very enjoyable. A plethora of USB plugs and enough space for all occupants keeps passengers happy and entertained- even on longer trips. We opted for the 8-passenger (dual bench seat) on our S trim. This allows us to fold either one or two of the rear seats, depending on the number of passengers and amount of cargo. We were able to fit 7 people and everyone's luggage for a week without compromising anyone's comfort. The rear of the vehicle did squat slightly, but there was no notable compromise in performance or handling during the trip. The safety features and comfort of the Telluride are exactly what we were looking for. This is our third Kia since 2012 because rare issues outside of routine maintenance have always been covered by Kia. We anticipate the same reliability with this Telluride. 10,000 miles in, we have had no issues."
Interior

5.0

The interior is expertly designed to make use of the space. The materials used, roof-placed air vents, and high quality sound system results in a very comfortable cabin for every passenger in the Telluride. The 8-passenger version allows for options regarding passenger/ cargo configurations.
Exterior

5.0

The bold, boxy exterior of the Telluride remains our preference. It effectively pays homage to square body utes of the past while looking modern. The resultant blend of rugged elegance encompasses a plethora or safety equipment and a front wheel drive platform without looking awkward.
Performance

4.0

The acceleration and stopping power of the Telluride are on point. Handling, including around turns and on wet roads, is tight at recommended speeds, but certainly not designed for higher speed negotiation. The ride is consistently comfortable and seemingly unaffected by a heavy load, though I would like to see less rear end squat when heavily loaded.

The passenger configuration can be altered in a 8-passenger Telluride. USB plugs are placed sensibly, as are the air vents in the roof that can be adjusted to individual preferences. Most important to us, there are so many safety features designed to keep your family safe: child safety lock controls on the driver's door, locking doors if there is something passing, impressive crash test results, airbags everywhere, and more.

For large families (especially those on a budget), I truly feel that there is no better value. The safety features, comfort, and performance of the Telluride exceed anything necessary for a trip to the soccer game, but longer trips are again enjoyable. Regardless, taking the Telluride anywhere won't cost a fortune because of the economical 3.8L V6 that got us 27 mpg while we were fully loaded with 7 people plus luggage. Operating costs shouldn't be much more since the Kia warranty covers anything outside of routine maintenance. In fact, we still drive a 2013 Sorento that has only had preventative maintenance and manufacturer-covered repairs. Also, with insurance companies looking for the safety features that come standard in the Telluride, it can probably even save you money on insurance.
